All 16 League teams were involved in Round 1 of the Cup competition this season. The questions were set by external setters. All teams were asked to provide question masters if possible, and one or two volunteers were drafted in to fill in an gaps.

The eight losing teams from Round 1 of the Cup played in the Quarter–Finals of the Plate, which was played on the same evening as the same stage of the Cup. Because all 16 League teams were involved, one team from each competition was drawn to set questions for the other competition.
The questions for the Cup Quarter–Finals were set by the Pack Horse Bowling Club. Teams were asked to make sure, wherever possible, that one team in each match could provide a question master.
