Two games this week were decided by just one point ... and both beneficiaries were from the same stable! The Waters Green Rams (should we be calling them Frank Lampard's Waters Green Rams now?) beat the Dolphin by 156 points to 155, while the Lemmings beat the Sutton Mutton 145–144.
Three other games were decided by margins of less than ten points, and in the C League the biggest margin was just eleven (Harrington 'B' over the Brewers Arms).
After last week we were left with one unbeaten team in each League. This week two of those records went (the Dolphin and Harrington Academicals), leaving the Robin Hood as the only unbeaten team.
Defeats for the Dolphin and the Ox–fford meant that we have a new leader in the A League: well done to the Royal Oak. Meanwhile in the C League, the Robin Hood took advantage of the two teams above them not playing and leapfrogged to the top of that table.
Congratulations and commiserations to Ashton Davies, who became the second player this season to miss out on a perfect game by just one question. Playing fourth on the team that went "first first", Ashton answered each of his first 18 questions correctly but failed on the penultimate one: the one about gaslighting. He now heads the A League individual table, although there is a pack of players behind him each with a game in hand.
Next highest scorer was Bob Thompson with his customary 51, while there were 45s for Ed Baron and Tony Browne. Top scorer in the C League was Jim Kennelly with 42.
There were sixteen personal bests this week ... but also twenty personal worsts.

The results suggest a reasonable balance in the questions, with four games won by the teams that went "first first" and six by those that went "second first".
The Ox–fford 'C''s questions scored reasonably well for Entertainment, taking fifth and eighth place of fourteen sets so far. The Specialists were slightly harder than average (average score 97%) while the General Knowledge were among the easiest we've had so far this season (114%). On the other hand, the spreadsheet suggests that the Specialists were better balanced – with just a 2% bias towards the teams that went first; in the General Knowledge, the spreadsheet detected a more pronounced bias towards the other teams (going "second first"): 118% to 109%. Overall, there was a slight bias towards those teams (going "second first") – 109% to 105%. On an average team score of 137, this would mean a points difference of a fraction under 5.5 points.
Four teams went "first first" and lost by seven points or fewer: the Dolphin, Sutton Mutton, Harrington Academicals and Sutton Club may consider themselves slightly unlucky. Although it must be emphasised that this is only the opinion of the spreadsheet and is not to be taken as Gospel!
