There were ten games this week, as all the C League teams were playing.
In the match between the Dolphin and the Church House Bollington, the Church House were three points behind when John Hargreaves faced the very last question of the night. Fortunately for the Church House, John was equal to that question ... and as the Minute Waltz faded away, the result was announced as a draw.
In the B League, the Plough Horntails and the Harrington Academicals drew 128 each. This was strangely reminiscent of last week's closest result, when the Horntails beat the Accies' stablemates, the Harrington 'B', by just two points.
There was another very close game in the B League, where the Waters Green Rams scraped past the Royal Oak by just one point.
In the C League, there were victories for both Sutton teams and both Park teams. And talking of coincidences (see paragraph 2 above), the Sutton Mutton and the Park Taverners ended up with exactly the same score, while the Park Timers scored just one more than the Sutton Club.
In the A League, the Ox-fford took advantage of the Ox-fford 'C' being on question setting and mastering duty to move to the top of the table on goal difference.
There was little change at the top of the B League, where the Nags Head remain in first place despite not playing this week. The Royal Oak's narrow defeat to the Rams allowed the Waters Green Lemmings to move into second place, with the Rams not far behind; the Oak are now fourth.
Similarly in the C League, the Sutton Club consolidated top spot with a win over the Prince of Wales, while the Sutton Mutton moved up from fourth to second with their victory over the Pack Horse Bowling Club.
Top scorer this week was Mark Watson with 45. Mark now has three 45s from three matches - what consistency!
There is a new leader in the A League, where Brian Bogie is 48 points ahead of Ashton Davies in second place. Brian is the only player in the Top 10 to have played five games however.
In the B League, Dave Partington was the only one in last week's Top 4 to play this week; he moved into second place, despite having three television questions in the General Knowledge section. Alasdair Reid remains in the top spot by three points (one question!).
Andy Ridgway kept his place at the top in the C League, but his team-mate Trisha Ashton, who was in third place last week, dropped out of the Top 10 completely. Jackie Hulme moved into second place above Chris Butler by virtue of having a higher lowest score.
There were ten personal bests this week: Alan Gilday (Weaver) and Jon Thompson (Waters Green Lemmings) with 42; Bill Cawley (Royal Oak), Keith Pointon (Waters Green Rams) and Malcolm Asquith (Plough Horntails), all with 39; Dave Turner (Dolphin Dragons), Tony Moores (Chester Road Tavern) and Graham Wallace (Park Taverners), all with 30; Shauna Barstow (Park Taverners) with 27; and Peter Bullivent (Cock Inn) with 24.
